Westmont, IL, September 11, 2000 Silvon Software, Inc. today announced the availability of Stratum™ - an integrated suite of analytic applications designed to help supply chain companies strategically plan, analyze and manage the performance of their sales, marketing, manufacturing, procurement, e-business, financial and customer-focused operations.
The new product suite is powered by Silvon's DataTracker technology a proven data warehousing and analytical processing platform designed to handle the high daily transaction volumes, large customer numbers, widespread product varieties and multi-tiered sales channels of supply chain businesses. In addition, Stratum features hundreds of pre-built, best-of-breed analytical views and reports based on supply chain-specific business models. This allows business users to gain instant accessibility to information, drill down and examine the data in a number of ways, and make knowledge-based decisions in a matter of minutes. Stratum also offers closed-loop processing functionality for automatically triggering actions in ERP, CRM and other Web-based transaction systems based on analysis findings (for example, generating a purchase order for materials when Stratum identifies that inventory levels for a particular product are becoming low).
"Because its analytical views and reports are based on industry-specific models, Stratum will typically meet 100 percent or more of a company's performance management requirements," said Michael J. Hennel, president and CEO of Silvon. "Combine this with fast implementation and Stratum offers immediate value out of the box while giving our customers an end-to-end solution for planning, analyzing and managing the key performance indicators of their businesses. It provides companies the benefit of being able to react quicker to changes in market conditions, product acceptance, customer preference, operational costs and quality by giving users a 360- degree view of the business to base immediate decisions on and to build future plans. Our solution is a first of its kind in the packaged analytic application area which will allow companies to avoid having to build costly, time-consuming, and generally less functional, solutions from the ground up."
"Because each Stratum application offers prebuilt analytic reports that capture best-of-breed analytics for supply chain firms, users have a strong analytic framework to measure performance," said Peter Urban in the AMR Research Alert on E-Business Technology for September 6, 2000. "The fact that Stratum employs a hub-and-spoke architecture, with the Data Tracker OLAP engine as the hub and the seven Stratum applications as spokes is also significant because all data is centrally stored, and integration between analytic applications is eliminated."
"Silvon's long-standing expertise in providing business intelligence solutions to supply chain companies is certainly reflected in the pre-defined analytics within each Stratum application," said Doug Laney, Vice President of META Group's Application Delivery Strategies practice. "Stratum appears to offer the right blend of functionality and technology for enterprise-wide business planning, reporting and performance management to support today's highly dynamic supply chain organization."
The Stratum suite of analytic applications is currently available from Silvon and features seven stand-alone, yet integratable, modules for Sales Performance Management, Marketing Performance Management, Manufacturing Performance Management, Procurement Performance Management, e-Business Performance Management, Financial Performance Management and Customer Analytics. Stratum is also shipped with Silvon's DataTracker technology featuring a relational data warehouse, on-line analytical processing engine, closed-loop processing functionality, a built-in planning application, and enterprise connectors for extracting, transforming and loading data from ERP, CRM and other web-based business transaction systems into the data warehouse for analysis purposes. Product license fees range from $75,000 on up, based on server size, number of modules licensed, and user seats purchased.
