WESTMONT, Ill., February 26, 2001 — Silvon Software, Inc., today announced support for IBM eServer pSeries systems running AIX, IBM's UNIX operating system. This extends Silvon's commitment to bring its Stratum suite of business performance management and CRM analytic applications to supply chain enterprises through an open, cross-platform architecture.

"By combining our technology with IBM eServer systems, Silvon is reinforcing its commitment to bring to our customers an open, enterprise-class solution for operations and customer-facing analysis applications,” said John H. Hughes, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Silvon. “These solutions are designed to monitor business performance indicators such as product profitability, customer purchasing patterns, customer loyalty, web site performance and marketing campaign effectiveness. With the performance, scalability and analytical power of our solutions on IBM eServer systems, managers and analysts across the supply chain enterprise can leverage large volumes of complex data in e-business, CRM and ERP systems to drive strategic business decisions."

"As more and more customers expand their applications to work across an extranet or upward to thousands of users inside the organization, they need a high-performance, very reliable e-business application solution that will allow them to optimize their information systems and drive better business decisions," said Mike Kerr, vice president of IBM eServer. "We are pleased to work with Silvon and its Stratum suite of analytic applications to provide solutions that will exceed customers expectations and give them a highly scaleable, top-performing Business Performance Management application offering."

Two weeks ago, Hakuto America, the U.S. distribution arm of Hakuto Japan, selected Silvon Stratum and an IBM UNIX server for its business performance management solution. "Our requirements were simple; we needed a packaged business analysis system that was proven, reliable and accessible without adding IT overhead," said Tom Kastner, president of Hakuto America. "Silvon clearly met our needs, and the turnkey orientation and system reliability of IBM's servers made the total solution the hands-down choice for us."
