Silvon Unveils Software Application
For Managing Trade Funds & Promotions

Expands Suite of Business Intelligence Solutions
For Supply Chain Enterprises

Westmont, Illinois – March 14, 2000 – Silvon Software, Inc. today announced the availability of Trade Funds Management & Promotional Planning, a business solution designed to help manufacturing, distribution and retail organizations analyze and manage trade funds and promotional campaigns. The new offering is the second to be added recently by Silvon to its suite of Business Intelligence analytic applications for supply chain businesses. Last week, the company unveiled a Category Management solution targeted to Food and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organizations under the CategoryManager trademark.

Silvon Trade Funds Management & Promotional Planning provides both maintenance and analysis capabilities. The maintenance capability allows users to create Funds and Commitments directly or to import the information from applications such as Excel®. Actual Spend information is typically imported from an ERP system using transactions from accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, invoice history, purchasing or customer order entry. The analysis function then lets users see at a glance their commitment allocations, planned versus actual spending, and the effectiveness of their trade promotions. Based on this analysis, trade funds programs can be addressed on a proactive, real-time basis.

Silvon Trade Funds Management & Promotional Planning runs on the IBM AS/400 and Microsoft NT platforms. The product license fee starts at $50,000 and requires the Silvon DataTracker data warehousing and analytical processing application platform.
