"OLAP Services will allow our customers to analyze data from large Silvon DataTracker data warehouses in specifically configured data mart nodes, providing greater flexibility in the way data is analyzed within the enterprise," he said.
In addition, Hughes said that the next release of Silvon DataTracker scheduled for 1Q99 will include Microsoft technologies standards such as OLE DB for OLAP to enhance user connectivity and to provide a high-performance, back-end system to the rapidly growing base of Business Intelligence consumers. According to Hughes, OLE DB for OLAP will become the seam between analytic applications and the data management infrastructure around which Silvon will deliver solutions employing the best technology available in each supply chain industry segment.
