Silvon Software Strengthens Management Team:

George Barry Joins as CFO
Wayne Nathanson Joins as Vice President of Business Development

Westmont, IL--February 17, 1999--Silvon Software announced today that it has fortified its executive management team with the additions of George (Bud) Barry as chief financial officer and Wayne Nathanson as vice president of business development.

Bud Barry joins Silvon as CFO and assumes responsibility for all financial functions at Silvon. Barry brings to the company more than 20 years of experience, including over a decade of senior financial management positions in the computer software industry. He most recently served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of Mediware Information Systems, Inc., where he managed all financial aspects of the company, including mergers and acquisitions, fund raising and financial planning. While at Mediware, Barry contributed to growing the company from a $14 to $25 million operation and increased the company’s stock valuation from $6 to $70 million.

In the newly created position as vice president of business development, Wayne Nathanson assumes responsibility for Silvon’s corporate strategic alliances and worldwide channel development. He joins Silvon from DataMirror Corporation, where he was instrumental in establishing the company and helping DataMirror formulate and develop its key application market strategies and worldwide geographic marketing channels. Prior to DataMirror, Nathanson held senior management positions over a 13-year period in other large technology companies, including IBM and Unisys.
